This DeMuro Award winning project entailed a complete renovation of the historic Pendleton Fire Station No. 1 to accommodate a new owner and use. Project scope included remodeling the original firehouse to house a motorcycle shop and retail outlet, a hostel for vacationing adventure riders, a new bar and lounge, and the addition of a private residence cantilevering off of the original building with views of the adjacent Umpqua River. BackFire Station preserved the heritage of this landmark building while injecting exciting and appropriate architectural design choices supportive of the growing community.
