Terry Amundson designed and oversaw the construction of this Operations and Maintenance Facility while working at a previous architecture firm. The project incorporated extensive sustainability features, including a green roof and solar panels, and achieved LEED Gold status. The facility serves Seattle’s First Hill Streetcar line which opened in January of 2016. The facility includes 2 interior work bays with pits below and mezzanines above to accommodate work to the rooftop and undersides of the streetcars, along with an exterior covered wash bay. The building was designed to provide the technicians with extensive natural light and cross ventilation for a comfortable and efficient work environment.
